Duties
(1) To load and unload/bundle up/dispatch mail items and mail bags;
(2) To assist in operating mechanised letter sorting machines or other mail processing machines;
(3) To perform messenger duties (including indoor/outdoor delivery and collection of mail items);
(4) To convey, load and unload bulky items in indoor or outdoor areas, and deliver goods by vehicles;
(5) To perform mail segregation and facing;
(6) To tidy up venues and perform cleaning duties; and
(7) To undertake other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Kowloon Bay/Tsim Sha Tsui/Tseung Kwan O/Tsuen Wan/Shatin/Yuen Long(The actual location of work assigned is subject to the operational need of Hongkong Post and may change due to operational need.)
Hours of Work:
The basic working hours are from 17 to 36 hours per week, around 3.5-6 hours per day (not including meal break).

Entry Requirements
(1) Be able to read and write simple Chinese and English; and
(2) Pass a fitness test of lifting and carrying a mail bag (around 16 kg) from one place to another.
Terms of Appointment
The successful candidate(s) will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months. Subject to operational needs, employees with good performance may have the opportunity for contract renewal after completion of the first contract.
General Notes
(1) Non-civil service vacancies are not posts on the civil service establishment. Candidates appointed are not on civil service terms of appointment and conditions of service. Candidates appointed are not civil servants and will not be eligible for posting, promotion or transfer to any posts in the Civil Service.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to the fitness test and selection interview without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (6) The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.
(7) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by post to the Personnel & Appointments Section, 7/F, Hongkong Post Building, 8 Wang Kee Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon on or before 20 January 2026 (the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission and documents which are submitted late, by fax or email will not be accepted). Please specify “Application for the Post of Worker” on the envelope and ensure that sufficient postage is paid. Applicants who apply through the on-line application system should state clearly the internet application number on the documents.
How to apply
Applicants should submit Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] before 6:00 p.m. on 13 January 2026 (Hong Kong Time) through one of the means below:
(i) online through the Civil Service Bureau’s website at https://www.csb.gov.hk;
(ii) in person to the drop box provided at G/F, Hongkong Post Building, 8 Wang Kee Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon; The opening hours of the drop box are from 8:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Saturday, except public holiday; or
(iii) by post to the Personnel & Appointments Section, 7/F, Hongkong Post Building, 8 Wang Kee Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon (the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application). Please state on the envelope “Application for the Post of Worker”. Please ensure that the delivery address on the envelope is correct and sufficient postage is paid. An applicant will bear any consequences arising from not paying sufficient postage.
Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (https://www.csb.gov.hk).
The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev.7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
Applications which are incomplete, unclear, late, with insufficient postage, submitted by fax or e-mail, or not made in the prescribed form will not be processed. Towards the application deadline, our on-line system would likely be overloaded due to large volume of applications. To ensure timely completion of your on-line application, it is advisable to submit the application as early as possible.
Applicants are encouraged to provide their email address on the application forms. Candidates who are invited for fitness test and selection interview will normally receive an invitation (by email or by post) within 4 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for the fitness test and selection interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. The period of notification for fitness test and selection interview may be longer when a large number of applications are received or in exceptional circumstances.
